We are Christa and Gary, the co-founders of Blondie’s Bakery. We met in 2001 in Philadelphia. Christa has since been pursuing a career in Art History, which has included two years in Massachusetts for school, two years back in Philadelphia working at the art museum, and the past few years traveling back and forth from Philadelphia to New York to complete a PhD and teach college classes. Gary is a filmmaker who works full-time for a production company in Philadelphia, but is also constantly developing his own ideas for films and music videos. With busy schedules, we were eager to find a way to spend more time together. After working in bakeries throughout college, Christa took up baking as a hobby several years ago and found that her cookies always got rave reviews from family and friends. Gary, constantly hearing these accolades from their guests, recognized that with his unique combination of creativity and entrepreneurial instinct and the desserts that had become famous among our friends, starting a bakery might be the perfect project that would bring together our individual talents.
